Proof of Residence (POR) document requirements

Proof of Residence (POR) is a document that verifies the residential address and country of residence of the client. 

POR documents must be issued within 6 months prior to submission. However, tax statements may be issued up to one year prior to submission.

The Saxo Group accepts the following types of POR documents, given that they meet the requirements outlined in the second column:

Bank Statement

(In Belgium and France, bank statements are not accepted)

The issuing bank must be fully regulated. Statements from e-wallets may not be accepted as valid POR.

Credit card statement

(In Belgium and France, bank statements are not accepted)

  • Client name
  • Address

  • Issuing bank (logo)
The issuing bank must be fully regulated. Statements from American Express, pre-paid cards and credit cards providers that are not fully regulated may not be accepted as valid POR.

Utility bill

(Mobile phone bills are not accepted as valid POR)

  • Account number/client ID number
  • Type of service provided/issuing company logo

Tax Statement
  • Client name
  • Address
  • Issue date
It must be a tax statement from the tax authority, not a self-declaration statement. 
Residence certificate / residence permit
  • Client name
  • Address
  • Issue date
  • Expiry date
  • Name of the issuer (public institution)

The document might be issued more than 6 months prior to submission.

 

Government-issued ID (if not already used as POI)
  • Client name
  • Address
  • Issue date
  • Name of the issuer (public institution)
