A digital signature employs a mathematical technique to ensure the authenticity and integrity of digital documents, messages, or software. This advanced digital tool functions like a handwritten signature or stamped seal, but with heightened security. When a digital signature meets the required criteria, recipients have strong assurance that the document emanates from a recognized sender (authentication) and remains unaltered.
In Europe, digital signatures made via signing software are widely accepted. Saxo recognizes the following digital signing service providers for KYC verification:
- Docusign
- ValidSign
- Penneo
- CertSIGN
- Signicat
- Adobe Sign
- Signhost
- Adobe Fill & Sign
Please note If the digital signature e.g. Adobe Fill & Sign does not have a digital code or digital verification/tracking, Saxo will compare the digital signature to the signature found in the POI of the authorised signatory. |
Digitally signed documents must comply with the signing regulations outlined by the company’s authorized signatories. The digital signature can be used for Saxo’s internal forms such as Client Application Form (Opening Forms), Authorised Contact list, Authorised Dealers list, withdrawal forms and W8 forms. Legal agreements (e.g. ISDA, ITA..) might be allowed to be signed via DocuSign only, but in most cases still need to be signed in wet ink. Please contact your Account Manager for more information about your specific case.
For enhanced security, we advise against sharing confidential documents via email. Instead, please share signed documents with the appropriate department using the case management module within SaxoConnect.
